Remembrance Sunday 2025

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the website of St Wilfrid’s Church, Davenham and a very warm invitation to join us for our two Sunday morning services:

We have  a 9:30am Classic Service and an 11:00am Informal Service - modern in style and which is particularly suitable for families and younger people.

Remembrance Sunday
We are very conscious of conflicts past and, very sadly, going on in our world today. Our thoughts and prayers are for all those affected by war and oppression.

On 9th November - Remembrance Sunday - we have a special ‘Remembrance themed Service’ at St Wilfrid's at 9:30am (Please note there isn't our usual 11am Informal Service)

There is also a formal Remembrance Service at 10:45 at Davenham War Memorial  (the church bells will be for rung in tribute for this).

We give thanks to all who make a difference - in times of conflict fighting for freedom, and those ‘heroes’ of today stepping up to make a difference. We pay our respects with grateful hearts.

'We will remember them'

'Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends' (John 15:13)

With love,

Rob
(Rector, St Wilfrid's)
